Friedman Legal Secures Jury Verdict in Broward County After a Mechanic Shop Damages Client’s Classic Car

Friedman Legal has obtained a favorable jury verdict on behalf of a client whose vehicle was severely damaged while in the care of a repair shop.

In June 2024, the client brought his 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport Tribute to a local mechanic for a routine battery replacement. While at the shop, the vehicle fell from a lift and sustained extensive damage. The client was not informed of the incident at the time and only learned of the loss after contacting the shop to inquire about the status of the repair. The shop subsequently refused to compensate the client and denied responsibility for the damage.

Friedman Legal filed suit on the client’s behalf and vigorously pursued the claim through trial. Attorneys Michael Friedman and Jodi Cohen tried the case in Broward County before the Honorable Michelle Towbin-Singer. On April 21, 2026, a six-person jury returned a verdict in favor of the client.

“It was a privilege to secure a recovery for our client, who had worked for years to purchase his dream car, only to have it nearly totaled due to the negligence of a repair shop he trusted,” said Founder and Partner Michael Friedman. “We worked diligently to present the facts and ensure the jury had the information it needed, and the verdict reflects the strength of the case and the efforts of our team.”

This result highlights Friedman Legal’s ability to successfully advocate for clients through trial and obtain meaningful outcomes when disputes cannot be resolved prior to litigation.
