Michael is a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyer that is experienced in handling a wide variety of matters in the areas of construction and property law, commercial and business litigation, and insurance litigation. His construction law experience includes complex construction defect claims, contract drafting and negotiation, insurance and bond claims, and most other aspects of construction law. Michael represents both commercial and residential owners, contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers, insurers, sureties, and design professionals. Michael routinely successfully litigates complex multimillion dollar first party commercial and residential property insurance claims through jury trial.
Nicole is an Associate at Friedman Legal with a practice that primarily focuses on disputes in the construction and property insurance sectors. Her construction practice includes prosecuting and defending contractors and subcontractors for claims such as unpaid contract balances, delay claims, lien claims, including fraudulent liens, performance and payment bonds, defective work, and torts ranging from standard negligence to fraudulent misrepresentation. Nicole’s construction law experience also includes transactional work, including drafting contracts and subcontracts and advising clients on a variety of pre-contractual and ongoing-project disputes. In addition to her litigation practice, Nicole also provides education to contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding contract negotiation, liens, and bonds and is published in the field of federal trade and employment matters.
Nicole’s property insurance work involves representing homeowners, condominium owners, and businesses in claims against their insurance carriers for underpaid claims and improperly denied claims. She has extensive experience litigating against coverage defenses brought by insurance carriers, including failure to comply with post-loss conditions, allegations of misrepresentation, and policy exclusions.
